Skilled Artist With Real World Experience

About Me

My Background

Santa Catalina Island is where I grew up and was surrounded by art deco from the early 1900s. I was a deckhand aboard a fleet of glass bottom boats for ten summers where I got to practice my public speaking and communicating complicated information to the general public. In high school, I graduated with a major in art and got a 5 out of 5 on my AP (Advance Placement) art test. I won best of class at the California State fair and have won numerous other awards and honorable mentions. A submission of mine of the state capital building as a watercolor painting was so impressive that instead of my artwork back, I got a thank you letter from a California congressman who decided to display the painting in their office.

After High school

That early success as a teenager set me on a path to getting accepted into Cal Arts in Valencia to attend college. The skills I learned there got me a job with Santana Inc. making T-shirt designs and album cover art. Then found a position with Epicure Digital Systems creating digital menu boards for the food industry. While there I also did freelance design gigs and got to work with some great people over the years. I've had the privilege to work with some of the biggest brands and lots of famous locations. One of my favorite professional moments was going on a personal trip to Harrah's Casino and seeing my artwork at their location. It's a great feeling and I look forward to continuing to make work that serves the greater public good through design.

My extensive background in the traditional arts combined with well over a decade of professional experience in the digital menu board industry makes me the perfect candidate for any creative position. My work has been displayed in several well-known locations. Communication and problem-solving are strong traits of mine. That's why I see every design project as an opportunity to use art to convey the client's message to their audience.

Graphic Design is one of my first loves and would create travel posters in high school. Now being able to add animated text has expanded my idea of what graphic design can be today and in the future.

I'm versatile with all art forms and mediums. Other than digital art I also learned traditional art skills over the years. When I'm being creative I use paint brushes, airbrushes, sculpting, photography, drawing, and ink pens to make my artwork.

Work Experience

Santana Inc

After college, I was hired to work on album artwork and T-shirt designs for Santana Inc. It was a great experience and learned a lot about the music industry.

Epicure Digital Systems

Working for Epicure Digital Systems I got to work with some big names in the food industry. Many of our clients were in higher education, government, and medical fields. I got lots of hands-on experience with creating designs from scratch, applying new technology to the designs, and working with clients to make the best product possible.
